Looking into sketches and installations, the work of Michael Craig Martin caught my attention instantly with the quirkiness of his drawings and they way they flow through the walls of his installations adding hints of colour. The colours which Martin uses throughout his work obtain a very cheerful atmosphere due to the vibrant colours of the walls paired with the unique colours of the individual objects painted, which are never their original colours.
I feel like Michael.s work is running parallel to my own in a way that they are opposite but very similar at the same time, with Michael using altered objects in a quirky way by changing their colours to create an uplifting feeling.
