I recently viewed Serena Korda's exhibition containing a performance of sound and sculpture, Serena became obsessed with the dark skies of Northumberland and the starts that they behold.By using homemade radio telescopes, Korda was able to explore the planetary harmonics and the sounds of her Galaxy. To me I found this extremely fascinating as I love space and the stars, so it was amazing to hear various sounds from what they emit in this performance, this sound is also known as "the music of the spheres". From this Serena Korda created ceramic dish shaped portals to be used to resonate with the sounds played into them, thus creating a feeling of huge space with the reverb and effects on the already spacious sounds filling up the whole room, when stepping into this room it felt as if you weren't just in a room but somewhere else, and for this performance to make me feel this very odd but enjoyable as it has not happened to me before.
