Idea to Reality

I recently found a cone that didn't look like it was being used, (I'm pretty sure the previous owner of the cone won't mind) which I have brought to the studio to paint black, I forgot to take a picture of the cone before to look at a comparison but I'm pretty sure we all know what a cone looks like, anyway the transformation of just having the black coat of paint is huge, its obvious that it's a traffic cone but stripping of its illuminous colours in exchange for a deep black gives off an eerie vibe. Combined with the text written in white paint overlapping each other, finishes off the aesthetic of the cone for me personally as i think it gives off an uncomfortable feeling when viewing, yet intriguing to read. This idea of contrast appears to be a running theme with this project.
