Whilst attending Crits, I mainly enjoyed seeing everyone else’s work and what everyone has to say about them through this I found the work by Alex Gould to be interesting. As Alex’s work was at the end there wasn’t much talking so alex just explained what it was about without receiving much feedback, her project is about body modification and she cleverly shows this in many different forms throughout her project, such as paintings, sculptures or mixed media photography. However, I will be talking about her paintings as these are what she brought to the Crit. My favourite piece is the painting on a clear sheet, it started off in portrait orientation to drip paint down onto, creating drip lines. From here it was turned onto its side in landscape orientation to then paint the outline of a mans neck very close up in black paint, I think this gave a great effect as a background combined with the sheet being clear so you can still see through the gaps between paint.
