After seeing the Chris Guest exhibition at the Ungerdog Gallery, I was able to see his watercolour paintings in person which are some of my favourites. From this, I have been inspired to try and use watercolour, I have been creating these sketch like pieces with watercolour paints of faces which I really like the look of as they are subtle and almost minimal in the way they are painted. I will be incorporating this style of portrait into other pieces as layers on top of normal faces, such as photos to see the contrast between them.
