Facial Manipulation

I am further looking into distortion and manipulation of a portrait or the identity of a subject, By using two layers with one representing the original, untouched subject and the second showing the abstraction of the face or identity. I am currently experimenting with different ways to show this abstraction, by taking the lines a face created and accentuating them into different shapes, resembling facial features or by covering the facial features with expressive brush marks of the same skin palette as the subject; with both of these ways painted either directly onto

the photograph or painting, or onto a layer of clear acetate sheet.
