Morgan uses a very messy technique to create a subtle image and this is shown in "Sam in the Kitchen" (Watercolour on unstretched watercolour paper, 51cm x 36cm). Howard created this painting in a quater of an hour which explains the messy unfinished look, however, Morgan was concentrating more on the colours, applied quickly with a large brush to bring out the shapes so you see the image and create the detail for yourself which is why I like this painting because such messy and unclear can paint a vivid picture in your head with your own imagination.
